January 4, 2026 Prelude to Worship Worship Christ, the Risen King
Welcome / Announcements Call to Worship: Psalm 96:1-9 Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength! Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth! Worship in Song Mighty to Save Confession of Sin Father in Heaven, we confess our sin and shortcomings to You. We praise you with our lips, but our hearts are far from you. We are distracted by the thoughts of our own affections and enamored with the things of this world. We speak of loving our neighbor, yet we pass by them every day without so much as a thought for their well-being. We lust and long for things that satisfy the pleasures of our flesh, but neglect and ignore those things that build up your kingdom and bring honor to your name. If you were to look upon us unfiltered, we would surely die, so look instead upon your Son and see His righteousness on our behalf, and give us faith to do the same. For your Name’s sake, and for your Glory. Amen. Assurance of Pardon Psalm 130:3-8 If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption. And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
